Tell us what you think
Posted by Paul on Feb 6th, 2013I have made three of these excellent Rotary Table Controllers. Two for me and one for a mate. Two made with the Lucas pcb design and one wired. The wired one, although not originally intend for anything except a trial and a bit of a play, is the one that is fully finished and in use in the workshop. All three work just as they should. One of mine is still uncased and used only for demonstration purposes at the moment. I intend to build two more for a dedicated wheel cutter. Thank you Steve.
Posted by George on May 16th, 2013Hi Steve, finally my build of your rotary controller is up and running. Congratulations for your effort.
Now that it's running I need to set the ratio. My axis is 6:1 ratio. What figure do I need to set in the worm ratio.
Posted by Graham Butcher on Jul 24th, 2013Hi Steve,
I recently ordered a pre programmed pic and pcb from you which arrived with no problems. This is just a quick Email to say thank you. I have now finished the controller and it is great! I am using it to drive a converted 3" rotary table using a STK672-080 driver board from Ebay. The controller does everything I need and is an excellent design.
I only had one problem which was due to me using 39pF capacitors on the oscillator circuit which it did not like so is now working with 27pF caps ok. While looking through the various forums to find out the problem I began to realise just how much time and effort you have put into this project helping people all over the world to get their controller up and running. All this with seemingly no gain for yourself which is so unusual these days. I am a great believer in "what goes around comes around" so you must be due some good karma!
So once again many thanks Steve,

I have just completed my unit from your PCB and preloaded chip. I'm running a Vertex 6" from a HP Laserjet donated stepper running 1A from a Chinese toshiba based driver. Power is 18.5v from a laptop PSU. I must thank & congratulate you on a brilliant piece of work - well done !
As you know the pic has been superseded - do you have any plans to update the files ? although they are pin for pin compatible I believe some modification is needed to the header
Posted by Don Lehmann on Jul 3rd, 2014Steve: I've been reading a lot of the info you posted on CNCZONE. I have also printed out some of the info from your website. I would like to buy your PCI and preprogramed chip to build the rotary table divider. Please email me with the price and payment requirements. I am in the US, at zip code 19464. Thanks Don!
